How can I make my skin whiter (quick, for costume)?

Asked by radioethiopia (32points) October 18th, 2010

I’m dressing up as Winona Ryder from Girl, Interrupted tomorrow and I need to make my skin paler, do you know of any natural, easy, cheap & quick solutions for this?

I would use white face makeup that they sell around Halloween. If it is too white, mix it with a flesh-toned makeup until you get the color you want.

You can get white powder from Halloween stores. There are some really great brands that you can google. I don’t know them off the top of my head. Generally the white costume powder looks unnatural.

You can also use natural powders from a cosmetics store or section, and if you use some light colored concealer base first, and then put the foundation powder on, it works well. Just make sure you get ivory or pure ivory, that always works well to make me look paler than I am.

Theatrical makeup.

There are corrective makeup sticks that come in lavendar, blue, green and yellow. Depending on your own skintone, buy one of these sticks to “neutralize” your natural base color then apply the lightest cheaper foundation you can buy and pat down with transluscent loose powder lite the round cardboard box kind in the lightest shade.

Apply a rich moisturizing creme, and then, using a large powder brush, lightly dust flour onto your face. It sounds odd, but it does work if you do not have any white make-up.
