Should my parents let me read The Heroin Diaries?

Asked by Spidermanrulezzz (189points) October 20th, 2010

I am obsessed with Nikki Sixx. He is my idol and I want to meet him so much. I have memorized most of Motley Crue’s songs and all of Sixx:A.M.‘s. I really want to read The Heroin Diaries, but my parents say it’s to graphic for a girl my age. Has anyone read it? Is it really that bad or could a 14 year old girl handle it? Be honest please!

I read it when I was 18.
It was a bit much for me. And I’ve struggled with drugs myself.

It was a very good read, as a fan.. but I’d wait a bit until you’re a bit older..

As long as you are living under your parents’ roof, they have the final say. A few 14 year olds could handle it, most shouldn’t try. Your parents know you better than us, so I would have to go with their assessment in this case.

Like @rangerr said, you can always wait and read it later. It might actually be better if you did wait.

I would go with your parents in this case. They know you better than we do, and honestly, it can’t hurt that much.
