What's the minimum amount of water that I should be drinking daily?

Asked by SamuelArnold (61points) October 20th, 2010

There aren’t very many specifics, I would just like to know how much water on average I should be drinking. I’m 16 years old and I’m somewhat active in sports. I usually have a water bottle on me at all times, I still feel as if I’m not getting enough water. Oh and I pee like a racehorse all day long.

If you feel thirsty then you aren’t drinking enough. Seriously. This really depends on the individual. “They” recommend 8 glasses a day, but it isn’t universal. Feeling thirst is a sign of dehydration, so if you find yourself feeling thirsty.. drink more water.

I find that nothing quenches my thirst anymore. Like i can drink and drink and drink but i just still feel thirsty.

It depends on your age, size, and level of activity. If your drinking habits have changed recently consult your doctor right away.

I agree with @YARNLADY. If you are feeling excessively thirsty and going to the bathroom frequently, you need to talk to your doctor. These can be symptoms of diabetes, among other things. Definitely see your doctor as soon as possible.

@SamuelArnold Your problem may lie in a mineral deficiency.
