Why is my right eye twitching?

I noticed on Saturday afternoon that my right eye was twitching every so often. Now it is Monday and it hasn’t gone away. When I pay attention to it, it twitches a couple times a minute.

Does anyone know why this might be happening? I feel like I’ve gotten a decent amount of sleep lately and haven’t been particularly stressed – these were two common explanations others have given me.

It is only occurring in my right eye – the eye isn’t sore or itchy at all. In fact when it’s not twitching it feels completely normal.
