How many clocks do you have?

Asked by Frenchfry (7591points) November 7th, 2010

How many did you had to adjust the time for? It is daylight saving’s time. Don’t you love this time of year?

Not including computer & mobile phone; five clocks and one wristwatch, but one of them is atomic and sets itself.

Frenchfry's avatar

I have one of those @downtide. Funny doesn’t tell time worth a shit. lol Nice to see you.

I wristwatch, another wristwatch that’s lost (maybe in my apartment?), the microwave, and the stove. All the rest change themselves.

So, I took a count and I have 21 clocks, counting computers, Ipod, cars, microwave, stove, DVD, alarm, phone, stereo etc. etc. I didn’t know? Did daylight saving time change? I live in Hawaii and we don’t do that. I guess it’s good to know when dealing with the mainland. Durr to me.… I wish we did daylight saving time, it would make sense.

None. I am a girl.

manual digital clocks embedded in an appliance or car = 3

automatic digital clock embedded in a cell phone, cable box or computer = 5

actual clock (wall hanging or otherwise) = 0

@ragingloli ? Is that meant to be a blonde joke?

I have to reset the microwave, stove, car and guest room clock. All the others – computer, iPod, cell phone – take care of themselves.

Coloma's avatar

Bedroom alarm clock, microwave and computer and car.

I never set my stove clock.

Speaking of which..I am sooo screwed up this morning. lol

It is now 4:49 a.m.

Really 5:49 by yesterdays time.

Went to bed at 9 last night cause I was wiped out, woke at 4:45 yesterdays time and now….well shit…the worlds longest pre-dawn. hahaha

LuckyGuy's avatar

@Coloma That’s the best time to put logs on the fire. I was up at 5:00 and got both stoves going this morning to get the temp back up to 66. It was seasonably cool last night, 30F. Everything is covered with frost except for the deer and fox tracks in the grass. Pretty.

Clocks that need to be set:
-2 clocks on 2 thermostats
-1 Microwave
-1 Stove
-3 clock radios
-0 watch – stopped wearing one years ago.

Automatic clocks
-4 computers
-3 TV/ computer monitors
-3 cell phones
-1 “atomic” clock (that I carry with me to set all the others.)

Does anybody really know what time it is?

1. Microwave
2. Oven
3. Wall clock
4. Car clock
5. Mobile – sets itself
6. Computer – sets itself

We gained the extra hour last week here in the UK.
My dogs become very confused by the time change. They were sat in the kitchen waiting for their dinners at 4.30pm (insteady of 5.30pm) awww poor things LOLL

@worriedguy

Yes, now 5:49, just started raining hard, still pitch black out.

All cozied up and playing with the cats with the laser pointer and having my last cup o’ coffee.
:-)

11 things that have to be set. @worriedguy thanks for reminding me about the thermostat. We usually don’t get to that until we realize it’s cold in the morning. Or warm, too soon, Which ends in coldness, too soon.

Four—two of which needed adjusting.

muppetish's avatar

Let’s see… my mobile (which didn’t adjust itself), my laptop (which did), and the alarm clock on my brother’s dresser (requires attention). The rest of the clocks are not in my room so, for brevity’s sake, I will not include them. That would be the responsibility of someone else in the house. At least, that’s the excuse I am using.

I don’t wear a wristwatch because I hate the added weight on my hands.

I avoid buying appliances and electronics that have built-in clocks. My computer and phone adjust themselves automagically. The only clock I have that needs to be adjusted is an old Radio Shack clock on my night stand that keeps pretty good time, except for having to set the hour back and forth twice a year.

Seaofclouds's avatar

I have to adjust the one on the stove, on the microwave, in my truck, my son’s alarm clock, and my wrist watch.

The 2 computers, laptop, and my cell phone updated on their own.

Mamradpivo's avatar

Simply way too many. 1 phone each for my wife and I, one computer each. I own 4 wristwatches (but only change the time as I need to: I think I’m covering 3 time zones right now based on where I’ve worn them) and she owns about the same number. One wall clock. Two clocks in cars. Microwave, stove, coffeemaker, alarm clock, clock in home office. I think that’s it so far.

My family loves clocks so I couldn’t begin to count. My dad has even made several clocks. Just in one room, the family room, there is one on the DVD, one on the cable box and one with big digital numbers inside the entertainment unit that we can actually see and one on the wall. Even though there’s clocks on the machines, they’re difficult to read. It just looks like a bunch of pretty colored lights. Same deal with the kitchen (there’s one on the stove and one on the microwave) but then there’s 2 regular clocks hanging on the walls. In the living room there’s 2, 2 in the downstairs bathroom and then in each bedroom there’s at least 2 and sometimes 3. Each of our 2 cars has one and then we all have at least one watch. And then there’s a couple of neat looking old school room clocks that don’t work hanging in our garage and a box of clock parts. Why? Because we love clocks!

On the other hand, my brother and his family do not seem to have any visible clocks in their home. It’s no wonder they’re always late.

@Kardamom

I think your family may suffer from clockaholism. lol

Kardamom's avatar

@Coloma I think you’re right. Do you think I should get my clock cleaned? Ha ha.

tedibear's avatar

I had to change the microwave, the stove, the car and my watch. My husband reset his watch. The computers, cellphones and cable boxes do themselves. So, four for me, two for him.

Neizvestnaya's avatar

There’s no Daylight Savings plan for my current state. In our house then we have only the clocks built into appliances and on our cellys. I purposefully do not wear a watch, haven’t in about 20 years.

daytonamisticrip's avatar

Lets see. One in my room, One in my brother’s room, two in the kitchen, one in the living room, one in my mom’s room I think, and uncountable watches. So there’s a lot. The only ones so far that have been set are the ones that set themselves. And yes I love this time of year.

This question is just so random I had to give it some lurve.

Aesthetic_Mess's avatar

The digital alarm clock by my bed doesn’t need to be adjusted because it has something called Auto Time Set. We didn’t adjust all our other clocks until this morning.
Stove
Microwave
Watches
The clock in the living room

Branden's avatar

The only clock I have is on my phone.

BratLady's avatar

14— only 6 set themself automatically.
I hate the time change because it gets dark by 6:00pm.
