How do I link a single post from a thread to another without importing the entire thread?

Asked by JilltheTooth (19787points) November 8th, 2010

If I think a Jelly’s post on an older thread will enhance the discussion on the current one, how do I link it without linking the entire older thread? I see it done all the time but I can’t figure out how!

Grab the ‘permalink’ for the specific quip and post that as your link.

Thank you! I’ll try that. Like this ? Hey! It seems to have worked! Yay! (Wish I hadn’t taken so long to ask!)

Wait, how do you grab the permalink?

@TheOnlyNeffie : Hover your cursor next to the right of “Flag as…”, then double click on the red “paragragh” symbol. That moves the post to the top, and the address for only that post comes up on the menu bar up top so you can link it. How cool is that?

Aha! That is cool. Thank you! GQ.
