Does it appear to you that Michelle Obama is frowning, even if she is smiling?

Asked by josie (30934points) November 8th, 2010

I don’t know the woman.
I am sure she is very nice.
I have known others who have the same strange combination of facial expression, and I think it is disconcerting.
Is there a name for that phenomenon?
Does it bother you when you see a person do it?

Maybe she is, she is very do-able however. Certainly looks like she could suck a golf ball through a hose pipe. I wouldn’t say no to a slice of the first lady ;¬}

Yes. She does have a sad face.

I relate, because people have always said the same about me. I’m inclined to agree with @ucme in that I think she is absolutely stunning, regardless. Maybe not quite in those words.

Hell, it seems to me that you’re always smiling, even when you’re frowning. It all evens out.

No. I think she’s the hottest first lady since Jackie O.

I think it’s something to do with her eyebrows, the way they zoom down toward the bridge of her nose and I’m not criticizing, I think she’s pretty. I’ve been told I look pissed off when I’m not, too. I put that down to bad eyesight and squinting.

It’s better than it used to be.Back when Obama was campaigning,they restyled her eyebrows for that very reason.

I don’t see it.

No. I think she’s very attractive. But people have said that about me. Apparently my “relaxed” face lookes grumpy.

Nope, not to me. But if it’s true, I hope that this doesn’t disconcert you in the way it did hundreds of people who didn’t approve of her wearing shorts.

Smart people think about a lot all the times.
