What's the most hilarious thing you've ever seen in a horror movie?

Asked by Berserker (33548points) November 9th, 2010

There are no limitations, from bad acting to crap special effects, funny looking monsters to ridiculous stories and plots.
It could have been intentionally funny, or not.

I choose this scene from The Devil’s Rejects. While no being related to horror other than it being in a horror movie, this cracks me up every single time, I mean it just never fails.

What’s your favourite funny horror moment?

I can’t remember which film it was from, but Jason beating the hos in sleeping bags against trees was pretty funny.

When the girl in Drag Me to Hell, walks into her bank, gets a small nose bleed, then spews blood out her nose across the room.

@Fiddle_Playing_Creole_Bastard The hoes means it was in a ’‘flashback’’ from Jason X, but he does use this tactic in…part VI I believe. I forget. I’m pretty sure he did it in the remake, too.

@truecomedian Haha yeah that was awesome, or when the old lady’s corpse pukes all over her. XD

The vinyl record throwing scene in Shawn of the Dead.

The entire film is hilarious. The fact that it’s a horror movie is just icing on the cake.

When Jason “took” Manhattan. He stalked and caught up with one of the faceless victims and he actually heaved a sigh. As if to say; “Sigh…, ok start screaming, you’re about to die a horrible death, blah blah blah, you know the drill, shit I’m bored with this. This is just gettin old. Why am I even doing this? What’s the point? I wonder if I can catch a good rerun of Get Smart if I head home now?”

Young Frankenstein is the best “horror” movie ever :)

What’s for dinner?

Meatloaf.

@Trillian Lol, nice. XD Remember when he gets to NY and sees that big advertisement board with a hockey mask on it and he’s all like, dude wtf lol.
I also loved it in part VII when he’s stalking that shrink in the woods. First he has a naginata. (Japanese polearm weapon.)

A NAGINATA. cmon man lol. Then he comes back two minutes later with this weird round lawnmower thing…where does he get all this shit lol? XD We’re in the FOREST!

Every horror film: run away from the killer/monster and find the car… get in, collapse on the steering wheel and breathe a sigh of relief… don’t even think that f*er might still be after you and can break a damned window… by all means, don’t drive away as fast as possible.

I’m a big fan of the black comedies from the UK and Severence is probably my favorite one I’ve seen. The bit where they’re trying to shoot the bad guys with the bazooka thingy and it misfires and it blows up a plane in the air.

Thomas Jane’s face in The Mist after the tentacle part too is pretty funny.

Pretty much all of Evil Dead 2.

Berserker's avatar

@mama_cakes Damn straight. I fucking loved that laughing lamp lol. I really wish I had one of those, that just started giggling away whenever I turned it on. :D

shpadoinkle_sue's avatar

@mama_cakes Shop Smart, shop S Mart! I cannot believe I forgot about Army of Darkness. Thank you! God, that whole movie is funny. I love the part though when he can’t remember the words.

Trillian's avatar

@Symbeline I know right? He must come in a six pack or something.
@mama_cakes Hehehehe! This… is my BOOM stick! And was it the first one that had the eyeball flying through the air and straight into that girls mouth? The girl-fucking tree was funny too, and when the brainy girl was trying to move the hefty guy across the floor she grunted out “I’m TRYIN!” Funny stuff. Nobody takes an ass whuppin’ like Bruce Campbell.

It’s not a traditional horror flick but in the original Funny Games, when the little boy gets shot. Not traditionally funny but when you suspend reality it was a riot.

shpadoinkle_sue's avatar

@truecomedian Interesting choice. I know what you mean. There’s this scene in The Host where the family is grieving and they’ll all crying on the floor and it just sorta turns kind of funny.

In Psycho 2, Norman Bate’s “mother” is going up the stairs to do some mayhem, but she stops briefly to straighten a picture that’s hanging on the wall. Because, of course, “mother” is still a meticulous housekeeper, even if she’s a killer.

The tiny magic twins in the horrible Japanese flick Mothra.

I can’t remember exactly which movie this was from; either Children of the Corn or the 1979 version of Salem’s Lot. There’s a scene where someone is running away, terrified, from something. It’s a guy with blond hair. He trips, and the way he falls is hysterically funny. I remember watching it with my friends when we were in middle school or early high school, rewinding it over and over, and laughing so hard we cried!

Edited to say: I can’t believe I just found a clip of it! It’s from Children of the Corn and is actually part of this video someone made (at about 3:54). I cracking up all over again, even though the rest of the video still freaks me out. Not a good movie for someone who grew up in Indiana, surrounded by corn fields. :(

When Chucky gets it on with the Tilly chick. How does he get it up?

NudeRanger's avatar

Me. I’ve done a few.

I thought The Human Centipede was kind’a funny. Watching those three people in their grizzly predicament was both hilarious and disgusting at the same time. All right, it would be a totally gruesome experience for whoever is 2nd or later position in the centipede. But I’d give anything to be the first position in the centipede ahead of two women. I probably wouldn’t even try to escape :-p

I love in “Dawn of the Dead” when they start the escalators up. The Zombies looks so amazed. LOL Laugh my ass off every time I see this.

Only138's avatar

@Symbeline I agree with your movie. The Devils Rejects is one of my favorite films….and that scene is especially funny. I also like where Cpt. Spaulding is with the woman and her son. :)

Berserker's avatar

@Only138 Devil’s Rejects is wicked shit. Did you ever watch in the extras, the entire Morris Green show lmao?

Remember, the grass is always Morris GREENER on the odda side ah da fence lol XD

Only138's avatar

@Symbeline Yeah, I love the extras….especially the Otis and Candy part when their in bed. The “Ass Party”. LOL

Berserker's avatar

Also that song, cuz I’m goin to Heaven with my Lord lmao XD

Only138's avatar

@Symbeline I have the entire movie soundtrack on my ipod. We like to get fucked up and listen to it….and I mean every song. Even the Buck Owens “Satans gotta get along without me”. LOL

Berserker's avatar

Yeah that’s what it was lol. Imma go listen to it on YT right now lol

AshlynM's avatar

Pretty much all of Seed of Chucky.

In Freddy vs Jason, I think this one guy gets smashed in between a bed.

Berserker's avatar

Haha yeah, he’s on there, Jason grabs the bed and folds it in half, crushing the guy to death. It was pretty funny lol.
