Why is my Madden 08' for the PC shutting down?

Whenever me or my kids play Madden 08’ on my laptop, the computer shuts down after it is played for about 15 minutes. This only happens when playing Madden. Could it be from scratches on the disk or is it a problem with my laptop?

p.s. We have had the game for over a year and it is just now starting to do this.

if it’s working with other games it’s probably the game. You should check the scratches…If you can’t get the game working, you can probably find it on amazon for $10 or less…

Can you play other games or is this the only game you play?

If it’s the only game then it could be that a heat sink has worked loose and the CPU or graphics card is overheating.

While it is possible to reaseat the heat sinks yourself its not easy (particularly in a laptop) and I wouldn’t reccomend a novice attempt it.
