Does anyone else collect public transport tickets? How should I display my collection?

Asked by bluemukaki (4332points) November 30th, 2010

I’ve just got back from a trip and managed to collect a rapid/mass transit ticket from almost every city we visited (damn you Cleveland) – a combination of metro, light rail and bus networks predominantly.

How should I display them? I don’t want to glue them into a book because both sides of the ticket are interesting, but considering the different form factors and sizes, a basic display folder won’t be very secure.

What about a wooden dispaly case with a glass cover and foam backing like this one?

It is possible to frame such things between two pieces of glass, with a nice frame around it. If you were to hang it as a room divider, it would work. A cheaper option might be to decoupage them onto a piece of plate glass, and hang it, unframed, by holes drilled at the top. and chains.

Great job being helpful, guys.

Would they fit in the slots for trading cards? I don’t know anything about tickets other than the Metro ones.

@rangerr holy crap I can’t believe I didn’t think of that. Derp derp.

Problem = solved.
