How to decorate a room for christmas with little kids?

Asked by Sunshine1245 (123points) December 1st, 2010

I am decorating a room at my church with a caravan group that I am running tonight. I am 14 and originally the Co-leader but tonight I am running it. The only supplies I have is paper, glue, and scissors and a small tree and garland. Any ideas for making decorations with this and get the kids involved.

Help the children trace their hands on a sheet of paper and cut out the hands with the scissors. Use the glue to put the cut-out hands together into garland to drape on the tree and/or around the room. You didn’t say you had crayons. If you do, show the children how to color their cut-out hands in festive colors.

Perhaps some of the children could draw gingerbread men. They could be cut out the same way and either strung together with the glue or just used as individual decorations for the tree and the room.

Whatever you do, many blessings, have fun and make good memories.

You can make garlands. Have the children color the paper and cut it in long strips. Then use the glue to make a ring. Slip the next long strip through and glue into a second ring. Repeat until you have a garland to drape on the tree.

If you have a digital camera and photo printer, take photos of the kids, make angels out of construction paper, glue face from photo on the angel.

Have them trace their foot on brown construction paper. cut out. Trace hands on white construction paper. The foot makes a reindeer face and the hands make antlers. add red nose and eyes, and you have Rudolph.

color the paper and then make paper chain links out of it, and wrap it around the tree like garland!
