Which is a store is a better value - Stop and Shop or Hannaford?

Asked by DandyDear711 (1512points) December 4th, 2010

I need to get a gift for my nephew who does not always make good choices with money. I thought I would get him a gift card to a grocery store in the Manchester, NH area. I know Shaws is spendy, Hannaford is good but have never shopped at a Stop and Shop. So what are your thoughts?

Here is a Stop N Shop in Manchester. It looks like a fine store.

I would prefer Hannaford. I think they run a better sale. I think they sell better product. I think they are both pretty expensive, and if Market Basket is in the same area, that’s definitely the way to go.

I am lucky to have ‘em all at my disposal, along with Trucchi’s, Aldi, Save-a-Lot, and Shaw’s, so we can shop the sales.

But of course, that wasn’t the question.

Hannaford.
