What is the best renter's insurance?

Asked by emilyrose (2272points) April 6th, 2008

I want a low deductible. I don’t need a lot of coverage because what I own doesn’t amount to much. But I do have a nice bike, two laptops, and will probably be buying another nice bike soon. I also have a nice bed. So…..10,000 would be a rough, high estimate of what I own and its worth.
Any ideas?

Wow.. We have renters insurance for 50K and it is about 8$ per month with a 500$ deductible. We use State Farm.

Edit :: we also use them for other insurance related things.

USAA if you can qualify (by having a parent or grandparent sign up with USAA while enlisted). It’s really just the best and cheapest insurance for everything.

Well I’m not sure how much our deductible is (lol) maybe I need to look in to that! because ours is for an apartment and for 30k maybe is because it’s an apartment higher risk but it’s worth it to me with all of the electronics and nice irreplaceable things we have

Sounds like you don’t have a car, but if you did—insuring your car + renters insurance from State Farm is cheaper than just insuring your car. It’s pretty neat.
