Why is PPTP blocking RV016 login?

Asked by oxjox (38points) December 7th, 2010

I have a working DYNDNS (client.selfip.com:8080) access to a RV016 at a client’s home but when I connect with PPTP VPN, and try to get in the router (192.168.1.1) am presented with a login pop-up and then nothing else. The web browser just stalls at that point.

Have you previously been able to access the router’s config pages over the VPN? If I were administering the network I would disable remote admin access to the device. Is it possible that your client has done so?
Are you able to reach the admin pages over a non-VPN connection?
There isn’t much information to go on here. I’m afraid the best answer I have right now is to contact Linksys support.
