What are the slide positions for a "G" bass trombone?

Asked by basstrom188 (3985points) December 17th, 2010

This is an obsolete instrument of English origin once used in orchestras, military and brass bands. After being abandoned by professional players in favour of the wide bore Bflat/F it continued to be used for some years by amateur musicians especially in the brass bands. I put a request on a proper trombone site without success so I am hoping that there is someone out there on Fluther who might have the answer.

Does it have a rotary valve or trigger?

I don’t know the answer to your question, but just wanted to let you know that I love Trombones and Brass Bands. Have you ever heard of a double belled euphonium? I saw this fellow named John Jorgensen, who is most known for being a guitar player, play one. It was magical and looked like this

I hope you find the answer to your question. : )
