If I requested someone as a friend on FB, why would their posts show up on my wall if the friend request is still pending and I have not received confirmation via email that they accepted?

I requested someone as a Friend on Facebook, about a week ago.

I can see from his posts that he is not on often, but he was on yesterday.

When I look at his Facebook, it still says “Friend request sent.”

I have not yet received an email saying this person has accepted my friend request. He is not on my friend list yet.

So then why is it that when he posted something it ended up on my wall?

It seems that that is the way things work now, which confuses me. It just seems to go against the various kinds of privacy settings and levels possible. I had the same thing happen, where I sent a friend request and the person didn’t approve it, but because I kept seeing their updates, I thought they had!

Anyway, I’m hoping it has to do with individual privacy settings and that it’s not automatically like this always.
