How can a teenager look younger for an audition?

Asked by Blonderaven (387points) January 7th, 2011

OK, so In trying out for a community theater show today, The magician’s nephew. On the audition form they said Polly (the girl Im trying out for) is supposed to be 10–16, but I know they prefer someone on the younger side of the scale. I’m fifteen, and about five feet tall. Does anyone have any hints on how to look younger?

No make-up,no nail polish, hair in braids, appropriate dress, and an expression of innocence and naiveté. Is the play called “The Magician’s Nephew”? You can google images of the young actors and their outfits online.

I want to add my voice to those above advocating no makeup and wear your hair like a little girl would. You shouldn’t have a problem with your height.

If you have a curvy figure, wear loose clothing that looks like something a little girl would wear.

Since you are petite, you shouldn’t have too much of a problem. Don’t wear any makeup, and put your hair in a braid or braided pigtails. If you wear a dress, add some tights and girlish flats (Mary Janes would work). Also, I would add that if you are curvaceous, consider wearing a bust-minimizing sports bra.

Good luck with your audition!
