What’s wrong with Pandora?

You cannot create a playlist. I like some of the choices Pandora makes for you. For me a playlist is better because there are certain songs I’d like to hear more frequently.

While I don’t think it has the ability to ‘suggest’ music according to your tastes, you are able to create playlists:

Ah, I see. Well, you can tailor your stations on Pandora using the “thumbs up” and “thumbs down” buttons. They also have an option to stop playing a particular song if you are sick of hearing it. I have a few stations on my Pandora, and it takes some work, but eventually if you vote up and down enough, they only play what you want to hear. I think the point of Pandora is more to introduce you to things you may not be familiar with, but that have similar aspects of what you are [familiar with]. But sorry, I don’t have another radio suggestion. I’ll pass that torch to another Flutherer.

What about flytunes? I have it on my iphone, but haven’t used much. At work, Pandora all the way! It does run slow at times and makes my powerbook scream but I still listen!

Depends what you are looking for. If you want something thats a good radio that will go off similar genres or artists i HIGHLY suggest www.last.fm wayyyy better than pandora could ever wish to be. If you want to be able to upload your own music or make play lists i would go with www.imeem.com its nice because you can make play lists off of music already uploaded to the site or use your own, and then share with other people. I also think imeem is much better then seeqpod.

Goodbye Pandora! Pandora is no longer free, i ran into the ‘monthly limit’, so I am ditching it. Last.FM, live365, and the links from winamp’s internet radio sites are now my choice for internet music.

RadioTuna is a great new alternative which searches thousands of free online radio stations by artist, genre or name. The results are amazingly accurate. There are hundreds of genres and it will suggest artists to search for based on your results and the stations you listen to. RadioTuna
