IPod is not recognized by Windows due to driver installation issues?

Asked by Marchofthefox (787points) January 17th, 2011

Whenever I plug in my iPod touch, it will open itunes but when the little bubble on my task bar shows up it says my iPod is in recovery mode. How do I fix this?

have you tried rebooting your computer +/ re-attaching your ipod?

iPods don’t get along with Windows and outright hate Linux so it comes as no surprise.

Personally, I had to reinstall iTunes a number of times before everything fell into place and my iPod Touch was recognized properly. I don’t recall doing anything actually special though; it was merely persistence.
