How do I open Windows Vista themes?

I really need help guys, I’ve been searching the internet for hours and can’t find a solution. I basically no nothing about ”.themepack” files, but I really wanted to download some new themes for my pc. I’ve downloaded them and have winRAR software, so what do I do?

Anyone?...I also have just normal .rar theme files, maybe you could help me open those? I know how to extract them but there is no execute folder to actually make them work.

for .theme files you just copy them to c:\windows\resources\themes and then when you right-click on your desktop and choose “Personalize” they will show up as themes you can select (given that they are actually themes). Rar files require winrar… you right-click them (after properly installing winrar) and choose extract and they wioll extract the archive to the destination folder. You can then use the contents. Winrar and rar files are just a different type of ZIP file so think of them in that manner.

Thanks for answering! I was able to transfer the themes to the the folder you suggested and right-clicked personalize – they came up – but when I clicked on them it said it was an invalid .theme file. So none of them worked :( I also did the extraction thing and sent the other types of themes to the folder, but when I opened the contents it said “no items match your search” :/ Oh well…

yeah there’s a lot of bogus theme sites out there. Sorry they didn’t work out for ya
