(NSFW) Most of the women that do lesbian porn, you have to wonder if they are indeed gay, or bi. Perhaps, they're not in it for the Marys nor Kates. Maybe, they're just in it for the Benjamins? Thoughts?

I don’t watch a lot of lesbian porn, as I find the women look way too perfect (fake) and it is not sensual enough for me. Although, Darkplay.net is a fun site (run by women for women). But, if I find something that appeals to me, where the women indeed look like they’re into each other, I enjoy in immensely and I watch. It helps to know that they dig women, as well.

I think that some probably do, but for the others, it’s just about the money.
I mean, if someone is getting paid to sleep with some other woman for like, twenty million, then they’d probably be gay in a heartbeat.

Of course they’re doing it for the money. Although that doesn’t mean that they don’t enjoy their work.

I think they wouldn’t be in it at all but for the money. I’d fake sex with anybody for enough dosh.

I think that it’s totally reasonable to wonder. There are two forces backing that: industry and social.

On the industry side, women porn stars are stars. That’s not to say that they are the boss…however, they get choice, and cost money. Those on their way up need to be a little more pliable. So, if you need to do some girl on girl action on the way up (or back on the way down), you need to. It just makes it more likely that the people doing it aren’t really into women.

On the social side, women are just allowed to be more sexual with each. So they’ll make out with a friend at the bar – but it’s more about how they feel, or getting some attention, if they’re straight. So it’s just more likely that straight women wouldn’t have a problem getting into it – particularly women in the porn industry. But, because they’re not really attracted to the person, it’s about the thrill of the situation or how good it feels for them – it’s all internal. You don’t get the connection, then, that you would naturally otherwise.

VivThomas is a good site.

That’s not specific to women. One can wonder that about anyone in the porn industry. There are plenty of straight men being ‘gay for pay’ as they say and gay men doing straight porn. These are things I don’t wonder about because I never assume they like whomever they’re having sex with, anyhow.

Simone, for me, it helps to know that they’re into chicks.

@Jude Yeah, I read. To each their own, :)

Lightlyseared's avatar

@Jude you’re paying them. They’ll be into what ever you want.

@Simone_De_Beauvoir – not at all specific to women, indeed. But it’s generally, for now, the case that women go for porn that shows more a connection in the partners…whereas men don’t really need to see that. So, there’s not going to be any focus on seeing whether there’s a connection or not because…you know…no one cares.

I don’t know if it’s more common for women or less because the industry pressure ends up being an equalizer in that case. I do think, though, that there’s a difference in the market that makes me think there are more straight women doing girly picks. Men are the purchasers, and much is marketed to them. There are great exceptions, but the lesbian porn market is so small. The gay men porn side is totally huge…and it ends up being more of a separate industry. So I feel like just the fact that lesbians have to look to the straight industry more often for options and the gay MSM industry is a standalone…there’s an argument that the ratio of actually straight to gay is more significant in theory for girl-on-girl scenes.

Why is this question about porn actors? Don’t teachers do what they do for varying combinations of love and money? And cops? And dog catchers? And preachers? And writers?

Oh. Not writers. There’s no money there.

iamthemob's avatar

@6rant6 – It’s because it’s more difficult to get turned on if you know it’s totally fake – there’s some suspension of disbelief involved.

It’s different when we’re asking from a user perspective. Teachers if they seem to be doing it only for the money often aren’t as effective – just like porn stars.

6rant6's avatar

@iamthemob Ah, but I would say that some teachers who are let’s say more naturally capable do a better job than the more “called” teachers. Some teachers called to the profession suck.

And I’m sure it’s true with porn stars that some of them who are more naturally gifted at such things but drawn by money, than those drawn by the lifestyle but less gifted, just suck better.

iamthemob's avatar

@6rant6 – True. But this isn’t about whether it’s determinative. It’s just more likely.

you could say that again :P….

Oh! There is one out called “Inside Peaches” with a real lesbian couple. Saw a few clips. Oh, happy day!

As a lesbian myself I must say that in most cases they are in it for the money – were they truly lesbian or even bi, the whole event would be more realistic & entertaining. The scenes aren’t sensual enough, they don’t prompt any additional action from the viewer, the women barely seem to enjoy it, what lesbian who has frequent sex has long fingernails?, the angles rarely are condusive to reaching the “G-spot”, & who sucks so bad that the participants lack self lubrication that one or both are reduced to spitting on one another?!!! Yuck!

My vote – it’s all about the money save a few rare cases.

In an effort to speak accurately I did a few hours of “research” last night and found that there are a few decent videos that match at least a minimum of actual lesbian-like standard on a site called x-art.com

That’s my two cents.

@Jude holy cheesy music lol. Looks good otherwise though. Honestly, Id just look for amateur stuff if you want something real.
