I have a head cold that is so severe that my ear is stopped. There is no pain, no drainage, no discharge. What can I do for this condition?

Head cold has caused my ear to stop up. No pain. No drainage. No discharge. Just discomfort.

I went to urgentcare once for that and was told to tilt your head to the side and hold a warm blow dryer to the side of your head that is stopped up. Then “pop” your ears by holding your nose and blowing simulatneously and stuff should drain out.

It’s normal. Goes away on its own usually, but it can last for awhile. If you’ve been plugged for a week+ you should probably go and get it checked, otherwise take some decongestants. Holding your nose and blowing could also do the trick, but I’ve been told it can mess with your ears in the long run.

The only decontegestant which works for me in that state is pseudoephedrine. All other decongestants fail me miserably.

There are multiple pressure points that will help with this. I googled some websites on sinus points. I utilize this sort of stuff on a regular basis, because it works, and doesn’t have negative side effects.

hope that helps.
