The way to meet people is to go where they are. so think of what you like to do, and then find a local group that does that.

Meet Up dot com has groups for just about every interest.

Interested in an outdoor activity? Go to a local equipment store,a nd look at their bulletin board. Or check with the local Sierra club.

Like to read? check at the library for a Book Club.

Look for classes at the local Recreation Department.

There are lots of people out there looking for friends, go where they are.

Yes, I too enjoy ‘Meet Up’ as a source for shared interests & activities.

Sincerity however, like trust, it is revealed in it’s own good time.

It often takes awhile, sometimes several years to really get the low down on anothers personality traits and how they show up in different situations.

There is no way to predict from a few casual meetings the sincerity of another.

It’s a gamble, as are all relationships.

If, after a few weeks or months you are observing any inconsistencies with a person, see any manipulative behaviors or see too much drama in their lives, well…these are the deal breakers for me and, unfortunetley, it is all about investing enough time to see the truth of a person beyond first impressions.

Good luck in your search for a new pal!

Have you ever heard of Toastmasters? It’s a great way to meet people from all walks of life and beef up your speaking skills at the same time. If you go to their website (www.toastmasters.org), there’s a link to see if/where there’s a club near you; often there’s more than one.
