How do I find my secret admirer?

Asked by awomanscorned (11261points) February 16th, 2011

I received a bouquet of lilies on Valentine’s Day. No idea who they’re from. I called the florist and they said whoever ordered them ordered them online. So they gave me the tracking number and I called the online place. I eventually found the account but the woman isn’t allowed to give me the information. She called the person who ordered the flowers to ask their permission but she had to leave a voicemail. I’ve asked all my close friends and family members. No idea who. Any other ideas of how I can track this person down?

If he or she wants to be identified, he or she will let you know. In the meantime, enjoy the compliment and save your energy.

When my husband was about to leave our marriage, I ordered myself a large and lovely bouquet from the florist’s. The card read, ” From one who thinks you are special.”

It was, I did and my about-to-be-ex was extremely curious. It was a petty triumph but one just the same.

Lilies on Valentines Day…. Not sure how to take that.

Anyway, make up a list of people it might have been. Send them each a thank you message… anonymously of course. I bet you’ll get a “You’re welcome.”

@6rant6 Roses are overrated and lillies smell amazing

I agree with @gailcalled – enjoy the compliment and wait. The person will reveal themselves in due time.

Sorry, that was too mean. :) Somebody thinks you’re special, enjoy it.

So it’s okay to call someone a skank if you smile?

Lilies – the preferred flower of Easter and funerals. All I’m sayin’. If someone got lilies on Criminal Minds, I’d be very worried for them.

@6rant6 I was teasing her, but that went too far.

My stalker used to send me flowers. So I would add to your florist’s advice and tread carefully.

Aw nice! You could always put up a Missed Connection on Craig’s List.

@noelleptc I said something to the affect a skank like you should be glad someone sent you flowers.

@noelleptc I changed it right after I sent it. I knew you’d know I was teasing but someone else might take offense.

Stop worry about it

It was me.

Okay, it wasn’t, but you can pretend it was me until you find out who it was!

When are you going to believe that it was me? :/

@Adirondackwannabe I was kidding too. Well, gently chiding maybe. There WAS the smiley face after all.

@everyone else… let’s call it a typo.

@noelleptc Or those dreaded paisley lilies… meaning someone’s polluted your koolaid.

@noelleptc I can imagine cases where your SA would never disclose. For example, if it were someone in your circle who knew that you had asked everyone you could imagine sending them but had not actually asked them. Especially if they felt they would be viewed as inappropriate – wrong age, wrong gender, wrong marital status…

Maybe it’s someone from your recent past who just had a nice thought about you and wanted to make you feel good without digging up old stuff. I’ve had that impulse; never carried through, but then carrying through isn’t what I’m about.

Or maybe it was a perv who secretly hid a transmitter in the vase. Yes, I probably watch too much TV, but its not my fault.
