How do I get my voice back as soon as possible?

Asked by chelle21689 (7907points) February 27th, 2011

I was recovering from a sore throat last night but I was at a bar and spoke too loudly all night so I woke up with my voice gone. I can BARELY speak! I have a date in a few hours to go skiing/snowboarding and I can’t cancel since it’s kind of a big activity and all planned.

Try a Nettie pot and gargling with hot salty water. Keep your mouth shut until then.

Make sure both your phones are working. That way you can at least text each other :-)

hahahaha bring paper and pen! we had a date the other night and it went great. so I’m sure he won’t let it ruin the day

You could try some hot tea (preferably chamomile tea).
And of course, do not talk much until then!

Try a soothing honey and lemon drink. That might do the trick

Tea with honey and lemon is SO good for the throat! Make sure to wear a scarf!
And good luck tonight! :)

Stop talking at all, including whispering. Gargle with warm salt water and drink warm drinks. I’m serious, no whispering!! It actually is hard on your vocal cords.
