Okay guys and gals, it's fashion gossip time! Whose "look" did you like the best at the Oscars last night?

Asked by WillWorkForChocolate (23163points) February 28th, 2011

Out of the women, I really liked the dresses worn by Marisa Tomei, Scarlett Johannsen, and Mila Kunis. Plus, the many dresses worn by Anne Hathaway; she looked stunning in every single one.

Out of the men, I loved the looks of Hugh Jackman and Robert Downey Jr.

Marisa Tomei by a mile. That dress was beautiful. Honorable mention to Scarlett Johansen. Loved the lace work on her dress.

It’s tough with the men. A tux is a tux. But Hugh Jackman wears it well.

Of course, this is of what I saw. I was asleep by 10PM.

I thought Oscars were a type of fish

Mila’s dress was beautiful. I loved the top part of her dress (the lace)..

And, she has a gorgeous rack.

Mine.

Pyjamas and dressing gown is always in fashion.

Sandra Bullock, Natalie Portman.

My favorite look? The look I was doing on another channel after seeing Franco staring at his iPhone and Hathaway giggling like a high school girl. I never looked back. Bob Hope must have been spinning in his grave.

marinelife's avatar

@Austinlad I agree. I switched to two hours of Iron Chef America.

I didn’t/couldn’t watch, but I’ve seen photos. I loved Halle Berry’s look. She’s so gorgeous.

I thought Cate Blanchett looked beautiful in this antique dress.

My favorite was probably the quiet class of Nicole Kidman’s getup (which looked better on TV at the mic than it does in this picture)

Finally, Gwyneth Paltrow’s dress was understated in its elegance.

First one was pretty!!
I don’t like the looks of the kinds of dresses that Nicole K wore. I always get distracted by those kinds of dresses, wondering how they get the tops so stiff, is it poking them in the neck, and what’s happening to their boobs in there?
Gwyneths was OK…I didn’t like the top, though.

I could not stop looking at Mila’s breasts. Awesome.

My favorite was probably Hailee Steinfeld, though. Because it was age-appropriate—I get so sick of young teens dressing like they’re twice their age—and she helped design it. How great is that? I just want to hug her.

I liked Anne’s first dress she appeared on stage with the most although she looked great in all of them

Happily, I watched part 3 of a wonderful Masterpiece Theatre, Any Human Heart

Why wouldn’t any nominee for the best (and supporting) actor, actress in a movie learn how to put two original, coherent and amusing sentences together for his or her acceptance speech?

Are there synonyms for “awesome,” “fabulous,” and “amazing.”

Jude's avatar

Best acceptance speech, for me.

WillWorkForChocolate's avatar

@Jude Yes! I loved his acceptance speech! “Whoa, I shoulda gotten a haircut!” “And finally my mother who did crap services for the film!”

MacBean's avatar

@Dutchess_III Here’s Hailee! Not a dress I think I’d much admire out of this context, but on her on the red carpet, I love it to bits.
.
@WillWorkForChocolateCraft services,” not “crap services.”

janbb's avatar

@Austinlad and @marinelife I agree with you. I usually like the Oscars but I found it this year to be unwatchably stupid and smarmy.

WillWorkForChocolate's avatar

@MacBean OH! LOL, it sounded like “crap services” when he said it, almost like she was the “gopher” doing grunt work or something.

I only watched a little of the show – bits and pieces here and there. I thought Natalie Portman looked gorgeous – sometimes it’s tough to pull off a beautiful gown when you’re as far along as she is, but she nailed it.

@Neurotic_David – Is the Gwyneth Paltrow dress that you linked the same one she wore while performing? Because I thought she looked terrible while singing – lifeless and pallid. But she looks all right in the photo you linked.

Neurotic_David's avatar

@Seelix – yes, it’s the same dress. I thought her singing performance was dull. But I loved her look: relatively minimal makeup, minimal hair fuss, and a plain, but elegant, dress.

You have to give Gwyneth credit for being a professional actress and putting herself out there, singing at the Oscars.

I thought her dress was not the most exciting. I thought Jen Hudson looked incredible.

Mila Kunis and Cate Blanchett. I was literally raving about both dresses all night. Beautiful!
Plus, it is no secret that I have a huge crush on Mila, so I’m sure that helps.

@Jude My Husband & I kept saying over & over…It took an exuberant young GUY that no one “knew” to give the best speech?! He was enthusiastic and it showed.

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

I didn’t love any of them but I suppose I’ll say Mila’s dress – it was nice on the boobs.

janbb's avatar

Were those boobs tatooed or was that the dress?

janbb's avatar

@Simone_De_Beauvoir Thanks – I couldn’t tell.

I always love to see what Helena Bonham Carter wears to these occassions. She never dissapoints. Love that woman.

@Leanne1986 True story. Whether she ends up on the “Hit” lists or the “Miss” lists, whatever she wears is always worth seeing. She’s kind of amazing. :D
