Is there a free alternative to partition magic for XP?

I want to create a partition on my hard drive without wiping it.

I think that if you got a live CD version of a recent linux distro (Fedora, Ubuntu) then you could probably use the partition software on that to reorganise your hard disk. Frankly, I’d back it up first before messing with it, even if I was using Partition Magic!

G-parted is a small linux based util that you can easily download and burn to disc and/or usb drive. I use it all the time to create partitions, and it’s simple to use and just works live off the disc.

I think that Parted Magic is a better alternative. It has Gparted, and so much more.
