Could you help me discover the name of this band?

Asked by josie (30934points) March 13th, 2011

I was in New York City this morning. At about noon on Times Square, this interesting street band started to play. Ethnically, they were (probably) Central or South American Indians. There was a drummer, a guitar player, an eight string mandolin player [?], and two guys that played pipes. A girl was selling CDs. I stopped and listened. I thought about buying a CD, but I was in a hurry, had little cash in my pocket so I moved on.

Now I regret not buying a CD. The music was pretty cool.

I will recognize the name if I hear it. It was printed on their instrument cases.
Do you know who I am talking about?
Thanks.

Been there forever. If not them, another one or another one… there are millions of little bands like that….

There’s a band from Peru that plays in the subways called Agua Clara. Is that the one? Anyway, it sounds like a Peruvian band from your description. Maybe that will help you in your search.
