What's a word you like to say?

Asked by pallen123 (1519points) March 24th, 2011

I find some words just enjoyable to say for some reason—something about the sound and feeling of saying them, as well as the imagery they conjure—words like “lacquer” and “shellac” and “jugular” and “dialect” and “caliber”. Are there words you enjoy saying?

I love the word “duty” because I am immature and always think about taking a “doody”. Many times someone will say, “I was just doing my duty” and I giggle.

@gailcalled got mine already. As soon as I saw the topic, I though “susurrus” and “tintinnabulation”.

I also like murmur and whisper. And now that @Aesthetic_Mess mentions it, coffee.

Foot is also fun to say. And book. Especially when you say them over and over again. “foot foot foot foot foot” .. like an engine idling.

Absolutely, redundant, f@ck, Mochate (Spanish for “give it up”), plethora, and anal. I often say “Is that right?”, and “Oh yea?”

Perplexing. I love “perplexing”. I like it when I am perplexed simply because it allows me the opportunity to say “That’s perplexing!”

@mattbrowne – I’d be pretty happy if I could say that word.

Since we’re venturing into other languages, my favourite Italian word is virgola. It means comma. I think it’d make a pretty name for a girl :)
