What is up with this religious symbolism (see picture) ?

Asked by troubleinharlem (7991points) April 4th, 2011

So I went to this church on Saturday to play a concert with my orchestra, and it was a very beautiful church that apparently used to be a synagogue. I was looking around before the concert started at the stained glass windows, and then I noticed this particular window…

I’m a religious person, and I usually know symbols and such, but I looked at this one and I was thinking “What does this mean? Why does it look like the Star Trek symbol?”

My mom said to ask on “that website where you ask questions thingie” and so here I am. :D

GA @phaedryx .

I like the part in the wikipedia article about Leonard Nimoy adapting it for use in Star Trek.
