Where can I find guitar music (sheet music) for free?

Asked by nir17 (371points) April 10th, 2011

I’m relatively new to playing guitar, but find myself not getting any better because I don’t have music that I actually want to play. (I took a class last semester, but the music we played was pretty awful) I was just wondering if anyone knows of any good sites to find actual sheet music to popular music.

I have this issue all the time. If you want country music tabs cowboylyrics.com has a ton of popular songs. Also guitarmasta.net is really good about that. A lot of times, if you just google tabs and what not, you can find it for free. If you don’t feel real great about that you can go to your library’s website. They have so much music available that you can practice off of and, of course, scan and keep a copy of. All you really have to do is ask to hold it on the website and they will ship it into the library you go to most/is closest to you. Feel free to message me if there is a certian song you can’t find. I’ve almost mastered finding the music for just about everything.

If you can read sheet music, stick with it. Other than that…it is pure practice, practice practice. Put in time practicing scales, picking and fingering. 2–8 hours a day will yield you tremendous progress.
