How do you know if a leopard gecko is sick?

Asked by leopardgecko123 (777points) April 11th, 2011 from iPhone

I have a leopard gecko and so far he has not been sick. But if he may ever get sick I want to know. So, how can you tell if a leopard gecko is sick, and how badly will it effect them?

Thats pretty vague. I mean some common symptoms you can look for is sores or markings on the body. Like dogs can get fleas, reptiles can get mites. Change of behavior. Sluggish not eating. Things like that. How bad it will effect it will depend greatly on what it has.

Personally if I were you I would look at the link @KatetheGreat posted as well as doing more research yourself. Its never a bad idea to learn as much as you possibly can about an animal that your caring for :)

When I worked at a pet store, it was extremely rare for the geckos to get sick. The article shows most of the symptoms that a gecko will ever have.

Took a picture of the gecko at work, such cool looking animals. He bit me pretty freakin hard today, drew blood even , wasnt his fault though, a little kid tried petting it and was more like pullin its skin off so he freaked.
