XBOX and HDTV help?

Asked by jballzz (674points) April 17th, 2011

I’m trying to set my XBOX 360 to HD. It’s set to HD, with 1080p and everything, but there’s no sound. Whenever I’m moving around on the dashboard, no sound. Playing a game, no sound. Watching netflix, no sound. I have no clue what I’m doing wrong but I need help. And yes, my volume is on. Help?

Think you need to connect an audio link ( a separate cable for audio ONLY ) check this out

Are you connecting with HDMI?

I tried connecting to HDMI and HDMI 2 but it didn’t work, so I’m connected to component. That’s probably the problem, but I don’t kow how to make it show up on HDMI. The red/white/yellow wire is connected where it’s supposed to be and the red/blue/green wire is also connected where it’s supposed to be, and those are the only two wires connected to the part that switches between TV and HDTV

I would try HDMI again. There should be a ‘input’ button on your remote and tv to switch the inputs.

The red white yellow . . . unplug the yellow since that is for video. See if that helps. Keep RGB plugged in, and make sure the switch on the cables is set to Hi-Def. (there’s a tiny little switch)

Alright, I figured it out. It’s still on component and it’s working now. I moved the red/white to a different spot and it worked. Thanks @mrrich724 @math_nerd @Tropical_Willie for being helpful

Thanks for letting us know you got it working. I hate it when people never let us know how things worked out.
