Why can't I get any sound out of my camera?

Asked by nailpolishfanatic (6637points) April 21st, 2011

Recently my mom bought a camera. Its an Olympus T-100. It has 12 mega pixels. I really love the quality of this camera and since I make videos on youtube I decided to try using the new camera for videos. But unfortunately there is not sound even when i connect it to the computer :(
I am confused with whats happening because before. I recorded my first video with it and it had sound. but then the second or third video there was no sound. I have read the manual script and everything… I am also pretty good with anything to do with cameras so I do not think that it has anything to do with me putting it on the wrong settings…
Any helps?

Usually camcorders have a little bullshit mic that comes built in. They do this because they also make Microphone Accessories that they want you to buy for better sound. There’s probably an input jack for a mic isn’t there?

If you are positive that it’s not a settings issue, then the next step is to check out the microphone itself. Try recording and speaking directly into it, making sure sound it reaching it well. If that doesn’t work, try plugging another sound source, such as a microphone, into the camera to record sound. Based on your results, you might have a hardware issue with the camera at which point you would contact the manufacture for assistance.

Thank you.

Firstly it has to do with the cameras.
I have the Olympus t-100 and fe-4000. They are both 12 megapixels.
I am having troubles recording videos for Youtube. When I record. The sound and video and not in synch (is that even right spelled?) anyway I guess u get the point. They don’t go together… it´s always the sound is slower.
It´s happening to both cameras and I have no idea what I should do.

Sounds like a problem with the product or a setting. Contact the manufacturer.
Based on some quick research, it looks like a known issue.
