How to get rid of stretchmarks?

Asked by NostalgicChills (2787points) May 13th, 2011

Before I continue, I realize I can’t get rid of stretch marks. Is there any way to hide them that doesn’t include covering it with makeup?
And are there any exercises I can do?

They should fade a little overtime, especially if you have pale skin. I don’t know any exercises or creams that actually work.

Yes, time will fade them, otherwise, no. Just part of the female bodies little surprises.

@Coloma and @JLeslie : How long do they take to fade?

JLeslie's avatar

@NostalgicChills At least a year, if not longer. I had stretch marks on my butt when I was young, I don’t see them at all now, but I am very pale. My husband also has some from his youth, and he has olive skin. His are noticeable, but barely. Are yours from pregnancy?

Yes, it takes a few years.

Mine have been gone for about 20 now. lol

See…if you get old enough they really fade away. lol

@JLeslie:
Oh god no, I’m only 15 xD
I just gained a lot of weight over the past several months. Lets just say food was a comfort.
But that long? Really? Thats unfortunate..

Thanks, to the both of you. :)

@NostalgicChills Oh, lol. They will be less noticeable if you don’t tan the area. I don’t know if teens are still trying to get tans in the summer like we did when I was young? Which I regret. Moderation, if I can just lecture for a minute. Moderation when it comes to sun, food, everything.

@JLeslie I’ll keep that in mind. Thank you.

These are absolutely fantastic. If you put the wraps on the area that you have stretch marks, it fades them severely. You also begin to look a little trimmer while at it! I use them and I barely see any stretch marks at all.

Thank you! I’ll try those!

I got rid of most of mine with a tummy tuck. They took my tatoo too. :-)

@NostalgicChills You’re welcome! I definitely recommend those patches. They are life savers.
