What do these dreams mean?

I’m completely afraid of sleeping these days. I keep having dreams about getting murdered, my family being murdered, and being kidnapped and tortured. Either that, or I’m married to some wacked out serial killer.

I also keep having dreams about alligators.

I’ve seen my therapist and she advised me not to watch any scary movies or read any horror. I’ve taken her advice for the most part, but what do these dreams mean? Am I just going crazy?

For clarification, I don’t have ANY major problems going on in my life right now. There’s nothing traumatic going on at all.
