What are some so-called 'negative values' that you like in your life?

Asked by Your_Majesty (8235points) May 23rd, 2011

Smoking,cursing,cheating,fighting,carelessness toward responsibilities,etc are widely considered as negative values for most people but luckily,not for everyone. I like fierce competition,revenge,and conspiracy. So if you think you’re not a perfectly good individual,and less hypocritical you too,must like some,if not most,negative values in this world. Be honest!

So if you’re not into paying back hurt for hurt you’re a hypocrite? Wow.

Cursing. I cannot stop.

ucme's avatar

I like to toss M&M’s out of my bedroom window onto the heads of passers by. Does this count? If so, then i’m in ;¬}

I would say I have, what, COULD be percieved as ‘negative’ habits.
But not negative VALUES! Big dif.

I am a bit of a hedonist, in that I am very orally fixated. lol
I like to eat, have a few drinks, indulge in the occasional pot brownie moment and have to curb my tendencies to be a bit of a glutton at times.

But..negative values as in, enjoying arguing, winning, being right, at the expense of others, revenge…um..those arn’t negative ‘values’, they are indicative of a pretty arrogant, unkind, disturbed, and un-evolved, immature personality.

Anyone can have a moment of such, but to revel in and glorify these negative personality traits is very unhealthy way of thinking.

Procrastination? I find it an art.

Your_Majesty's avatar

@snowberry Only if you’re not consumed by hatred. It’s the primitive nature of human/animals to defend themselves and fight back it they’re attacked. Some virtuous people like to forgive so maybe they’re not hypocrite at all (if they’re really that virtuous).

I think Count Edmond Dantes showed us that revenge is OK lol.

There is this wonderful quote about laziness which i can not recall at the moment, but it suits me like a….., well, like a suit.
I am lazy and loving it, to an extend, but only when the occasion arises.
If my help is needed, asked for or not, i am there.

Your_Majesty's avatar

@ucme You’re out lol. That is the less kinder thing you do to feed poor kid who is craving for some snack!

@Coloma So “arrogant and unkind” aren’t negative at all? I think evolution does little in the development of human personality. Immature personality? Maybe you’re right. Life is a choice anyway.

@Blackberry Maybe you’re right! lol.

I really have no room in my life for negative values and do all I can to keep them at bay…..stress, negative people, crabby people. Swearing is the only negative value I “allow” in my life and I use very liberally to chase away the stress and negative people in my life!! ;)

ucme's avatar

@Your_Majesty How about throwing darts at wasps? Or better still, drowning them slowly in a haze of furniture polish squirted right in their ey…...ahem, do excuse me I got a little carried away.

Your_Majesty's avatar

@ucme Drowning them for personal pleasure could be considered as animal cruelty if you’re watched by local animal activists. But if you throw lemon cakes to passers by I may walk around your house for extra…

TexasDude's avatar

Cussing and general debauchery.

ucme's avatar

@Your_Majesty Oh I take no pleasure in it at all, just revenge. See i’m terrified of the little buggers.

@Your_Majesty The question reads: “What are some so-called ‘negative values’ that you like in your life?” (Emphasis mine). I very much agree with @Cruiser on this, but in general I don’t curse. I also don’t beat myself up if I do.

I do not confuse defending myself with revenge. They are two distinct actions, arising from two distinct attitudes. I don’t like any negative values in my life. Period. Not to say that I’m not that way from time to time, but I don’t like it, and I don’t play around like that. I do have plenty of room for fun, but I have no room for revenge, etc. as the question suggests. I also have no room for people who ARE like that. Life is too short for the negativity! Great Answer Cruiser!

vacillating patience.
i have the patience of a saint on most things, but on some things (pet peeves) I just have no patience for. ex: I have no patience for stupidity.

striving for perfection. it works for me.

I like figuratively speaking beating up people who call themselves things like @Your_Majesty and refer to themselves in the 3rd person, and write excruciatingly painfully weird things like So if you think you’re not a perfectly good individual,and less hypocritical you too,must like some,if not most,negative values in this world. Be honest!

Just being honest.

Coloma's avatar

@Your_Majesty

Of course they are. As I said.
Having a ‘moment’ of such, and CATCHING yourself, is a far cry from those traits as a constant.

Your_Majesty's avatar

@zen I’m sure we’re free to choose our own name here,and most importantly I don’t violate any rule with this name. Just because you don’t like it it doesn’t mean it’s bad (beside,there’s nothing you could do about it). I wonder why you always provoke something related to my nickname? Are you a fan of Royal Court? ha ha… Or maybe you’re just envy,and I think you are. Just being honest.

Being UN-punctual, UN-structured, UN-regimentalized, UN-predictable. Or, should I say… I love being quixotic, dreamy, spontaneous, happy-go-lucky, laid back, and marching to my own drummer.
However, that’s not how society is, and those who are comfortable with details, structure, routine, predictability and capable of being perpetually punctual do not understand that it can be unsurmountably difficult for others to be that way. So, I savor the moments I can shed those expectations and eeeeenjoy being… UN-punctual, UN-structured, UN-regimentalized, and UN-predictable. SO there!

Telling the truth, when it is unacceptable socially. Faux pas are my forte.

Cursing, being chaotic in general. Conspiracies.

I’m a nonconfrontational coward. I run from conflict. When cornered I turn and fight back with passive agressuin but I mean no harm. At times I can be a patronizing wimp to eveade hurting some ones feelings with the truth.

@Blackberry Hahahahaha. Women, you silly!

Brian1946's avatar

Smoking weed, cursing, sloth, lust, whoring for lurve, and pimping for points. ;-]

Ajulutsikael's avatar

@gondwanalon Wow, I’m the same as well. I’m also rebellious, and at times it’s unintentional. It’s like I’m subconsciously rebelling. Also I tend to always want to prove people wrong about different aspects of myself. Another negative of my personality is I share too much.

woodcutter's avatar

Sadly I don’t have any of those. I guess its because I’m getting old, goddammit.

I finds being diplomatic is the best to win over any situation and well its considered as being negative too but for me its being smart.

Virtues become vices when taken to the extreme.

auntydeb's avatar

Pottymouth. Self expression has been known to completely undo my good intent. Don’t really regret it though, as suppression is almost certainly worse, health-wise.
