Looking for websites explaining non-method (traditional) characterization techniques?

Asked by Blonderaven (387points) June 7th, 2011

There seems to be limitless websites out there explaining method acting and characterization techniques, and I understand that pretty thoroughly, but want is a website explaining characterization through the lines. In other words, something not based off of Stanislavski’s method, but rather more traditional acting. Thanks everyone!

You might try checking out traditional techniques using Elizabethan theatre as search words. This is the “action suits the words, words drive the action” principal of acting that Meisner, Stanislavski, Strasberg and Adler rebelled against by making the experience of the actor more important than the words in the script.
