Can you help me name my bengal cats?

Asked by missiusf (22points) June 7th, 2011

I just bought two bengal cats and they are brothers. What would be good names for them?

Bengal cats.

Naming is very personal. What are their characteristics? Off the top of my head I like Zulu and Storm.

FutureMemory's avatar

Hypocrisy Central and Tinyfaery are the names I plan to give my next two pets.

@FutureMemory I hope your next pet is an elephant.

I just Googled and I think you mean Bengal cats and whoa! They are beautiful. Congrats!

Or if you like a more distinguished or literary bent, how about Kipling and Rudyard (or Rudy, for short) ?

Most people are familiar with The Jungle Book and the connection will give them a smile. They definitely won’t forget their names.

Such gorgeous distinguished cats should have appropriatr names that befit their regal appearance (even if it’s not the specific ones I chose :)

Something like John or Fred seems rather plebian for such a distinguished breed, wouldn’t you say ?

TexasDude's avatar

@Buttonstc I like that. I think I’m gonna get two cats now and name them Rudyard and Kipling.

I love the jungle book characters idea, my hubby loves the samurai and ninja… i also liked the calvin and hobbs
Before posting i thought of Lynx and Liger and I also thought of Dagger and Darrow
or Diablo and Dagon
Seems harder than I thought to name pets, lol…

@missiusf Your choices are all great. I would just keep in mind that you’ll have these boys for years and day-to-day, you’ll use nicknames for them. Test your choices for the ability to shorten or convert them to daily names.

What about “Keen” and “Sorrow”?

Buttonstc's avatar

Well, Rudy and Kippie would be suitably shortened nicknames :)

Stinley's avatar

C’mon @missiusf – tell us what you chose

missiusf's avatar

lol I am still trying to decide… i cant believe how hard this is!! I am also leaning toward names from jungle book and lion king, ect…

Kardamom's avatar

Well then, Bagheera and Balu or Timon and Pumbaa.

missiusf's avatar

Well we narrowed it down to
Lynx and Knox
Lynx and Chaos
and Remus and Romulus (Romi)
I think we are going with the last ones… what do you guys think?

WillWorkForChocolate's avatar

I like Remus and Romulus out of those.

Dangit! You can’t name one of them Voldemort? Then you could refer to the cat as “He Who Must Not Be Named”!! :P

Milo here; Make sure to note that although Gail pretended that Romulus and Remus were her idea, we all know who the brains are in our family. (We do, don’t we?)
