What is the Hawaiian term for the ultimate wave?

Asked by RocketGuy (15230points) June 13th, 2011

I seem to remember that Hawaiians had a term for the biggest, ultimate wave to surf on. I just can’t recall it. Can anyone help?

@talljasperman I believe Kahuna is the term for the wave rider, not the wave. It comes from the Hawaiian word for sorcerer or wizard.

Perhaps the word you are looking for is pipeline.
