Besides going to watch the fireworks, what else do you do for fun?

Blowing shit up is my usual 4th celebration du jour.

You know what is really fun?

Get an empty coke can, poke a hole in the side wall of it near the base, hold a lighter nozzle end down in the mouth of the can and hold down the switch so gaseous lighter fluid fills the can, then light the hole you punched in the side. Instant jet engine.

Going to Lexington, KY where they close off a lot of the streets for street vendors, bands on almost every corner, food booths, crafts, rounding the day off with a minor league baseball game and fireworks.

At my house, we’re having a pool party/ barbecue with all the fixins and a major fireworks display plus carnival is two blocks away.

Oh, oh, oh, night time tracer shoots are always fun too.

Going to a cook-out then going to a local baseball (college summer league) game. Ending the day with fireworks at the ball field.

@Jeremycw1 no no! I didn’t mean without fireworks, I just meant what else + fireworks. I’m definitely going to go watch them on Monday night!

Having a pool party/ barbecue. Then the military base’s firework show. And of course after that, partying…probably involving more fireworks. :]

The town/city parade is a must so is the local beach or pool. Then invite all your close friends to your home and Bar-B-Que the best you can afford and crank Joe Cocker turned to 11 on the stereo!!

@uberbatman holding the can is a good way to nuke the shit out of your hand. I usually just leave it sitting on the ground. Also, don’t hover over it when you light it, for obvious reasons.

@Fiddle_Playing_Creole_Bastard thats what I was kinda thinkin ok. So rig the lighter up to let the fuel fill the can and light that fucker from a distance. :)

Reclaim our independence from tyrannical governments and corporations.

On a serious note, go to the Los Alamos Lab in New Mexico. I hear the fireworks are scheduled to start just before the sun goes down.

We’re going to cook on the grill…. and then blow stuff up.

Pretty classic, but never gets old.
