Had any interesting dreams lately?

Asked by Joker94 (8180points) July 2nd, 2011

You get the idea. Go nuts!

I myself had my first lucid dream a night or two ago, and I must say it was a rather neat experience. I didn’t do too much, I just kind of walked around my house for a bit before waking up.

I had an interesting but plain dream where I was out on the streets, it was raining hard, and I had this dying purple flower in my hand. I had to plant it somewhere but I couldn’t find a single patch of dirt to plant it in. I was stuck in a concrete jungle.

The other night, I had a dream I was at my parents’ house, and a guy broke in and tried to cut off my legs with a chainsaw. I almost always have bad dreams…

2 nights in a row now I dreamt I sank a 35 foot putt in sudden death to beat @lucillelucillelucille at a scratch game of golf.

I don’t usually remember my dreams, but just last week I had a dream of the steps necessary to survive an apocalypse.

I was laying on a couch and I was paralyzed, because two small children stole my wallet while I was laying down, but I couldn’t move. I watched them run away. Bitches.

I’ve had recurring lucid dreams almost every night for the past week or so about a city. It remains internally consistent in the dreams and the same characters and locations tend to show up.

In one of the dreams, I was the owner of a casino in the downtown area. It was decorated with overstuffed leather seats that overlooked the gaming floor itself. I remember walking around the casino talking to different people who were all sipping martinis.

Another one of the dreams involved me walking through an old cemetery across the street from the city hall. I climbed through a rusty fence and ran through some alleys and found myself in an alley where an artist collective had set up a ramshackle studio.

In another dream, I was running up a dirty stairwell in a tall elementary school chasing after a guy who was wearing a shiny black outfit. I got to the roof and stood and marveled at the city lights and I realized “I created all this” at that moment, so I sat down with a friend who was with me. We saw some of my other friends down by the city hall, so we climbed down and joined them, but we were yelled at by cops. I told them “don’t you know who I am, I own the casino down the street!” and they left us alone.

In the last dream, I was in a bar near the art collective and I was with a black-haired girl who was trying to buy cigarettes. Some ugly guy stole her cigarettes, and he became belligerent when I asked for him to give them back, so I bashed his head in on the floor, took the girl by the hand, and ran past the art collective, the graveyard, town hall, the casino, and all the other buildings until downtown turned into a residential area and then turned into country side. The sun was starting to rise, and I was about to climb a mountain to get a view of what was on the other side when I woke up.

I’ve dreamed about this city many times before, and it is always laid out in the same way, and the characters are really dynamic as though the city actually existed. I’ve never dreamed about it so much as I have this week, and my lucidity gave me the opportunity to really observe the city layout. So much so, that I was able to draw a map in MS paint. There are some other locations marked on the map that I have dreamed about in the past, but not in this week’s dream spree.

Dreaming is awesome, especially when you have a super gnarly imagination.

About 2 nights ago I had a dream that wasn’t especially “interesting,” but it was interesting to me.

I have a recurring story line in dreams that I’ve had for many years. I am in the path of a massive tornado, and I have to rescue two people. In every dream I’ve ever had the two people are a little girl and an old man. I always successfully save them from the tornado, but then they inevitably die as some result after the storm. Collapsing buildings, falling elevators, explosions… whatever. They always die. I always wake up feeling like crap.

Most recently, however, the people that I was trying to save were not an old man and a little girl. They were two women about my age. As usual, I saved them from the incoming twister. We were in the basement of someone’s home and a huge wave came out of nowhere and everything flooded badly. I was trapped in this waterlogged, badly damaged basement for days before a woman found me and helped me out. On my way out I saw the body of one of the women that I was trying to save floating in the water by the basement stairs. She was nude and her eyes were open, staring at me.

I seriously thought about that dream for the rest of the day. It really bugged me.

I was in my house and all my family members are there. They are looking for something and I ask them what. They don’t make it clear. Just my mom asks what will we do when we find it. Next thing I know, I’m coughing out nails and needles. I could still feel them coming out of my throat when I woke up.

The last dream I could re member any part of, I was heading to a high school, they had a bunch of old junk and equipment clogging the black top area. The coach came over and was bitching he could not use the area for some exercises he wanted the players to do. I told him that is why I was there to remove all that stuff. I was to put it in a storage shed across the practice field. When I was about 40yds away, I seen a swarm of bees, like a cloud drifting across the field toward the tool shed. It was really are to get back to the main building and they were blocking the way to the tool shed. Then they started to head my way. Something like a newsreel popped up before my eyes like some message from a guardian angel, it said “don’t run, bees will not sting or attack unless agitated, no matter what happens….remain calm.” About that time, they swarmed me, buzzing all about like a locomotive. I remember them crawling all over my face and lips, I was tempted to yell, swat, and run, but remembered the newsreel. Then the bees left I squinted to see them attacking some yard worker. The newsreel popped up again and said, “The time to escape is when the bees are distracted, however they are not distracted very long…..I would use this time to run!” I thought for a moment that I should just hold my ground and stand like a statue but after I seen how they tore into the grounds keeper I bolted. As on cue they gave chase, about the time I was at the main doors they swarmed me and I felt myself get stung twice; in the right hand on the middle finger knuckle and on the left on the pointer finger knuckle. I dashed in the main doors and slammed it behind me. When they asked me what happened I told them there was a humongous swarm of bees. I looked at my hands thinking I would see some dying bees stuck there but where I was stung was like a huge bump but nothing else. Then thank heavens I woke up.

I had a dream where I invented a new language, and it was the best, clearest, largest language of them all, and everyone just instantly knew how to speak it and how to find the words they needed to express themselves. My god, I am the biggest dork… ;)

@Fiddle_Playing_Creole_Bastard That is an EPIC dream, man!
@atlantis I hate waking up with any lingering feelings from a dream, especially pain.

@Joker94 or that sinking feeling telling you that the unpleasant dream you dreamt could have easily been true.

I always have bad dreams, and I remember them for some minutes after I wake up. Then, gone. But I know I’ve had maaaany dreams where I’m trying to run, but I can’t and there’s always someone chasing me. I usually wake up before he kills me. Anyway, here’s an interesting one, no running in it. I was Homer Simpson’s daughter, and there was a guy with a bulldozer, trying to get into the living room to steal the air conditioner. From the window I could see some pirates, they were all wearing big hats and had their parrots with them. Then I realized that Homer Simpson would be a better father than my real father, probably freaked out and woke up.

aliens that pretend to be pirates… I hate them.
