Hunters, What is your preference. Compound Bow, Crossbow, or Firearm.

How could you leave out dynamite, driving off a cliff, trapping, rope snare and poison?

Personally, I do most of my hunting with a flyswatter or rolled-up newspaper.

@WasCy Because we dont use dynamite,poisons, or drive animals off cliffs. trapping is not hunting, it is trapping.

Firearm. I like hitting targets at 500+ yards though I find the sensation of the arrow leaving my compound bow quite sexy!

I am not a hunter but do own guns and recurve bow.
If I were to hunt,I would use the recurve as I think it might be more of a challenge.

Whatever I have ammo for and works. I’m not picky.

I need to practice with my longbow, though.

I’m only a hunter on WOW…and then I prefer some type of bow. (Crossbows are okay, too.)

I prefer to hunt with a rifle because it’s very cold duing hunting season and you can’t wear too many layers if you want to shoot a bow well.

Also, I’d love to use a good crossbow, but in RI and MA you have to be disabled to use them legally.

@Dutchess_III It makes a tiny bit of sense, since they’re worried about poaching. Crossbows are the favored weapon of poachers. But you can poach just as easily with a longbow or a suppressed rifle. Hell, in many parts you don’t really need to suppress it.

Firearms. But then again, I’m sort of biased. My guns are like children to me.

I also do love shooting a bow from time to time. It makes me feel wild.

I’m more confident in my ability to get a clean kill with a gun than with a bow or crossbow.

Yes, @Fiddle_Playing_Creole_Bastard. I agree. If I was hunting actual animals I would definitely use the weapon that would be the most likely to get a clean, fast kill.
The bow would be the most fun and the most challenging, but I wouldn’t take the risk with an animal.
