What have you purchased or came across that made you smile all day, in a silly way?

Asked by Pele (2644points) July 12th, 2011

Yesterday, I walked into a thift store and found a large velvet painting of Jesus. I totally bought it. I’m still smiling about it. No sure where to out it yet though. I have a soft spot for velvet paintings and tacky religious art.

Pop-Rocks and Silly String put me in a very goofy mood! That stuff cracks me up!

I have a mirror image clock – it runs backwards. I love watching people try to figure 1) what’s wrong with it and 2) what time it is.

I like to set off whole shelf fulls of talking, singing, dancing toys. You know, those you find in toy stores ~ Well they do see “Try me” so, I oblige. Anyway yeah, those make me smile.

A hat I bought once. I was very happy that day. It was raining, everybody was trying to find a place to sit until the rain stops, but I was there with my new hat, and I didn’t care about anything.

The stupid thing is, I never ever ever wore that hat. Never. I did only once, and it felt weird. It was like I had stolen MJ’s hat.

Not a purchase, but what my wife did to me.

The next morning, my wife knew I had a big criminal trial that was beginning. The night before, I took a shower, shaved and arranged a clean police uniform. The night before went okay.

Next morning, I awoke and headed for the bathroom for personal relief. As I passed the bathroom mirror, I stopped dead in my tracks and backed up. I had become Bozo the clown.

My wife had painted my toes and fingernails with red polish. She painted my face in various colors. Even my ears were painted red and yellow. I panicked!!!!!!!

I ran to her and woke her up with some of foulest language I have ever spoken. She laughed so hard, she fell out of bed. “Where in the ____ is the fingernail polish remover?”, I shouted. “We don’t have any”, she said. She laughed so hard that she developed the hiccups. She went next door and borrowed some remover from our friends.

Most of the paint came off, but not all of it. I went to court with a red glow on my face. I explained that it was a sunburn.
