Is the "two fingers up on an angle" (slanted peace sign) the new imitation thug posture?

Asked by jca (36062points) July 29th, 2011

When I look at photos of young friends on Facebook or elsewhere, a lot of them pose with two fingers on a slant, like what used to be known as a peace sign, except they hold it sideways or on an angle. This pose is combined with a smirky face.

Is this the “imitation thug” posture of young people now?

It’s not the peace sign. It is “throwin’ up the duces”. It’s a cooler way to say peace.

Yep. the posture of suburban white kids everywhere.

Over here in the UK, and I’m pretty sure in the States too, it means ‘Fu*k you’.
