How to find 120v double contact bayonet light bulbs for an antique light fixture from Australia?

Asked by kelly (1918points) August 3rd, 2011

bought some antique ceiling fixtures from Australia that have approx 22mm wide double contact bayonet style sockets. I have looked online but bulbs are listed by a style name/number such as T30, etc. How do I know which to order? These fixtures are probably from 30’s or 40’s and may have been for lower voltage such as 25v.

I’d bet that the lamp uses bulbs based on the British standard. Chances are good that it takes a BA22d bulb. This was the only one commonly used for domestic lighting, and the base diameter (22mm) is right.
