Do you remember your first lunchbox?

Asked by gravity (3116points) August 25th, 2011

What was it? Do you still have it?
Mine was Holly Hobby… telling, given the name. No, I don’t still have it… but it is probably in my mother’s attic.

Mine was one of those big plastic ones, where both the top and bottom are the same shape, with hooks on top to hold a thermos, and little snaps to keep the thing closed. It was orange, and on the front there was a picture of Garfield the cat, getting ready to chow down on a sandwich.
I had it in kindergarten, up to grade two I think. But nah, whatever happened to it…ain’t got it now.
Cool question though. :)

Oh yes I sure do! It was a pink vinyl box with Tinkerbell on it. Unfortunately it had one of those old style glass-interior thermoses and one day I dropped the box and the thermose broke. I was so sad and embarrased and I felt like I’d let my parents down by not being more careful with it.

I loved that lunch pail and I have no idea what happened to it. But it’s probably worth a fortune now!

I remember that it always had a funky American cheese/tuna fish/sour milk smell to it.

Like the vast majority of my belongings, it was a hand-me-down from an older sister. It was covered in Pepto-Bismol Pink with a black poodle stamped on the front. I think it had a Paris theme.

Ah…and here it is. Too bad it no longer exists, but it does solve the mystery of which sister previously owned it.

I can’t seem to remember it, though I seem to have this idea that it was red. I’d have to ask my mom; she’d know. I do remember my first backpack, though. It was red, yellow, blue, and green—each side being a different color. I loved it :)

It was a brown paper bag

@josie Epic lol.

@gravity The Garfield lunchbox was me. :p
And dammit I can’t find a pic of it. I can’t even find the model of it. Seemed popular when I was a kid…I didn’t know looking for lunch boxes online was this complex.

Huckleberry Hound.

I think those lunchboxes must be the rarest of the rare if the thermos still has the glass intact.

I’m pretty sure it was Miss Piggy.

It was a steel fixer up that my mom painted with blue enamel. Solid blue. It was some leftover paint that she used to paint my first bicycle.

At age six, I was a Snoopy man, through and through.

Snoopy “teddy bear”, Snoopy blanket and a Snoopy lunch box

Square, tartan, detachable lid, two handles came together on top to keep the bean sandwiches and peaches in a recycled mustard jar all in tact.

Brown paper bag for me, too.

I had a metal lunch box, painted with the Disneyland theme on it. Inside was a matching thermos bottle. If I still had it, it would be vintage stuff.

Yep, mine was a brown paper bag too.
