Did you ever have a haircut that changed your eye color?

Asked by Blueroses (18256points) August 27th, 2011

I’m not talking a color & cut, but just a cut.

I was amazed today, having my hair cut short and textured around my face… my eye color changed from grey to aqua. I was wearing black and white and had no coloring done to the hair.

I’d think I was just being self-absorbed but I was out at a bar (rooting for the little league team) and got comments from strangers approaching me to comment on my eye color. It was only a cut. What explains this?

Sounds like the shape of the cut just framed your face in such a way to make your eyes more of a focal point than they were before the cut, which may have drawn the eye downward or away from the eyes.

That is very strange @Blueroses and did you have your hair cut yesterday! So did I! It must have been haircut day because @Leanne1986 did too.

I have never had a hair cut that changed the colour of my eyes though. I think your eyes sound beautiful though and such a transition sounds excellent!

Wow! What are the chances of that? Out of thousands of jellies, three had a hair cut on the same day!!!

Light colored eyes, like grey, tend to change color because a lot of the color depends on the light they’re exposed to. So your haircut could just be exposing your eyes to either more light or just differently than before.

@ANef_is_Enuf ch ch ch ch changes

and that makes sense @ddude1116. This was such a dramatic change though, in color, that carried into dim light of a sports bar and then outside. I’m really not all that into my appearance, but this is like playing a video game where you place a stone and the eye changes colour. It’s weird.

No, but then again I’m color blind, so maybe it has and I haven’t noticed.

@Blueroses Grey eyes aren’t too extravagantly different than blue eyes that it seems impossible.
