Is there anywhere in lower Manhattan (Greenwich Village or nearby) where I could sit down and have a coffee and something to eat right now?

Now that the non-hurricane has passed, I assume most places are still closed (particularly with the subway still being down), but I wonder if there’s any diner or anything that happens to be open.

Well, people are supposed to stay inside for now, so probably places are not open yet. A Jelly from Brooklyn sounded like the city was in the eye of the storm possibly about an hour ago, which means most likely more winds to come. If the storm has past, a few places will probably open it’s doors. It’s hard to say because I think NY probably assumed nothing would open today. In FL we tend to be more wait and see for something like this, and employees need to call into work in the morning to see if they have to go in.

I ended up going to Yaffe Cafe in the East Village.
