For fun, could you help me pick four album covers to display on my wall?

Asked by Jude (32198points) September 4th, 2011

I want four of the same band – The Ink Spots. Not sure if I’m going with a white or black album frame. Each album should be under 20 bills.

Danke.

SHIT those are expensive. Just print some out dude, if each has to be under $20 you probably wont get good quality and remebr that there is shipping.

I’m looking for pretty/interesting album covers. :)

Consider using Rasterbator, with which you can make your own wall sized posters just download a cover you like and use the software.
It is pretty cool, I think.
I made one myself once, except I didn’t put it on the wall (yet), just to see how and if it worked.

Fiddle, I could sit and look at this shit (and play The Ink Spots) with you all afternoon. :)

I have a thing for mid century era jazz album covers. Some of the graphics are really fantastic, in a minimalist graphic-designey (is that a word) way that I absolutely love. I find random album covers like these at thrift stores. And I think Michael’s craft store has frames that are made specifically for record albums.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Doc Severinsen

Hank Mobley

Dave Brubeck Quartet

Bill Hinz

Tough to find one under $20. Good to see people are enthusiastic about them, though.

Here’s one for $25 US

Emerson Lake and Palmer consistently had eye candy for album covers.

I loved this one

Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” album

The Beatles’s “Buthcher Block” album. Good luck on finding it.

The Momma and The Pappas, “Up, Up, and Away” album.

Tommy Tuckers, “High Heel Sneakers” album.

You all are wonderful, and, thank-you. But, @jaytkay, a big thanks for actually answering the question. ;)

I like this one

What I did was change the search criteria to “lowest price first” and that’ll give you the cheapest ones first, so you’re not swimming through the $100 somethings!

This one’s cute too!

Jude, I reread all your question THIS TIME. I have to ask you, why the Ink Spots?

Jude's avatar

@john65pennington :) I really like the band. They’re music means something to me (corny, I know, but, it’s true).

Are you talking about the original Ink Spots of the 50s?

Jude's avatar

Yes, sir.

If so, somewhere in my house, I have #674, Acorn label of the Ink Spots.

@Jude Do you have any thrift stores near your house? I’ve seen Ink Spots records in thrift stores before and you can get them for about 1 or 2 dollars (American) then get the frames for about $12’s at Michael’s craft stores. Not sure if they have those in Canada, but probably something similar. I go to thrift stores all the time, so you have to go a lot to find what you want. But that’s part of the fun.
